Zimbabwe's Unity Gov't Moves to Address Food Problems in Prisons
"Human rights groups have condemned Zimbabwe's prisons as hell-holes that subject prisoners to slow starvation and possible death due to poor conditions. ----------------- Human rights groups have long criticized Zimbabwe's prisons as hell-holes that condemn inmates to slow starvation and possible death from nutrition-deficiency related illnesses or the vast array of other diseases that they are exposed to through unhygienic conditions in their cells.
In 2009 food rations at two Harare prisons - Harare Central and Remand Prison - were cut to a quarter of what prisoners should receive and at one stage it was revealed that there was no food left at all in the prisons. ----------------- "
Do you think the prisoners in Zimbabwe's prisons would accept high tech nutrition (the "New Food")? My guess is that most of them would. The others probably don't want to live anymore because they see no future and they have been treated so badly. How many other places around the world are like this? How many of you believe that conditions will really improve dramatically in Zimbabwe? I don't believe they will. I hope someone will continue to monitor the situation there. What is your agricultural organization doing to help get food to these people?
Here is a link if you want to read the entire article. It's not very long.
